The café is located in the Century Old Hillenkamp home.
This property was the home place of Rudolph (1841-1909) and Mary (1842-1917)McKay Hillenkamp.
Ten children were born of this marriage. Rudolph owned and operated the Hillenkamp General Store in the building directly across the street (now the Flower Stop) until his death in 1909.
The home was inherited by two Hillenkamp daughters Isabel and Anna.
Isabel never married and resided in this home her entire life until her death in 1955. The Hillenkamp family cemetery is located and maintained in the Whitmoor Country Club. The Hillenkamp home remained a private residence and maintained much of the original appearance and historical architecture.

When Denny and Missy Naumann saw the “For Sale” sign in 2005 they knew it would be the perfect fit for their dream of opening a charming café in town. A quaint spot where the food would be fresh, unique, healthy and delicious.
After renovating and restoring the home to a business they opened the doors for lunch in the fall of 2006.
After four successful years in business for lunch, Missy hired Theodora (Theo) Valentine from Buffalo, New York as a chef for Thyme Out.
Theo was quickly interested in joining Missy as a partner and expanding the hours into the evening.
They worked on the menu keeping all the familiar lunch favorites while adding her family Italian pasta recipes and home made desserts to the menu.
We hope you enjoy your lunch, dinner or a leisurely glass of wine on our patio
or inside the cozy cafe!
